Practice Circle: The Gospel of Thomas

A Practice Circle is a closed group that meets via Zoom once a week for eight consecutive weeks. Each weekly meeting is facilitated and goes for an hour and a half. In practice circles we engage in contemplative practice together, cultivating harmony of being by attuning to and aligning with the Presence of Spirit and ‘the sound of the genuine’ within us and between us.

When: Jul 26 – Sep 13, 2024
Where: Online via Zoom
Facilitator: Philippa Ranby
Cost: Koha/Dana (Guide: $5 - $10 per gathering)

Focusing text:  The Gospel of Thomas

The Gospel of Thomas dates back to the first centuries of Christianity but was only discovered in the mid-Twentieth Century. It is one of a collection of manuscripts known as the Nag Hammadi Library. This Gospel text provides access to elements of the wisdom teachings of Yeshua that emphasize the Oneness of unified being.

The Gospel of Thomas is a collection of wisdom sayings or sutra that invite contemplative engagement. Each week of this Practice Circle, we’ll contemplate one or two of these wisdom sayings and share our impressions in conscious conversation. The wisdom sayings introduced will be different from those introduced in the previous Gospel of Thomas Practice Circle.

You don’t need a copy of The Gospel of Thomas to participate in this Practice Circle. The wisdom sayings for each week will be made available to participants.

Participants will receive a Zoom invitation that will be their link to the eight Practice Circle meetings and will be encouraged to join each meeting at 7:55am for an 8:00am start.
